Yay! We’re now onto Part 3 of my little cupcake project! No time to waste, let’s jump right into it.
It was a friend’s birthday just recently, and since I always send her some of my homemade sweets, I wanted to make her birthday treat special. I purchased some of some cute canning-esque jars to make her cupcake a little more fun (and less messy) to eat:
Remember the cupcake?
Well, I crammed it into the jar to make the bottom layer of my Cupcake-in-a-jar:
Next, I dropped a dollop of icing to create layers…everyone loves layered cake!
And I smoothed the icing out:
After placing the top piece of the cupcake on top of the icing, I topped it all off with a swirl.
And as you can see, my “dollop” of icing in the centre was a little heftier than I originally intended. No matter, this icing is so light that in this case, more is more! And aren’t these Cupcakes-in-a-Jar so cute, regardless?
Personalizing this gift was a breeze because of the jar’s already-very-cute factor. I simply used my friend’s favourite colours and created a fun sticker to mark the celebration:
It’s so dang cute, if I do say so myself, and I hope she loves it! This Cupcake-in-a-Jar gift is quite easy to make, and would make super cute wedding or event favours as well as adding another dimension to a dessert table — they look cute, keep the mess to a minimum and are fun to eat for kids and adults, alike!
