When Dalisa Cooper from AltF Photography posted these photos on the AltF blog, I knew I had a to a post about this wedding!
Ladies, take note of lucky bride, Jen’s, wedding shoes…
Yes, indeed, those are the Manolos made famous by a certain NYC fictional fashionista. What a fab wedding shoe choice! And naturally, these gorgeous shoes had to be given a proper showcase. I adore Jen’s short wedding dress choice because it just exudes a cool and super chic vibe…not that I don’t enjoy a classic long dress, but a shorter length wedding dress really sets the tone of fun for a wedding!
I also think that the bride was very clever in choosing her wedding attire. For most brides, the wedding dress is possibly the biggest investment they will make on a single item, and that can be very daunting, especially if the bride and groom have many other wedding expenses (or post-wedding expenses such as a honeymoon or a home). If a traditional wedding dress isn’t quite the right tone for you, why not consider doing something like investing in a glorious, show-stopper pair of shoes like Manolos (mega points for a bright colour!) and scaling back on the wedding dress itself? Typically a shorter wedding dress would be more economical than a traditional longer one, although not always depending on the dress itself, so why not invest part of your wedding dress budget on an item you can wear over and over again? It’s definitely something worth considering, especially if you really want your wedding to stand out from others.
And how could you resist twirling around the dance floor in a dress like this?
…which is exactly what the happy couple did! Thanks, Dalisa, for the always great photos!
