I will admit that a big part of the fun of planning weddings for a living is the design process. As wedding designers and planners, we get to translate our couples’ wedding vision into something real. This goes beyond picking colours and recreating a Pinterest photo — we aim to recreate the feeling that our couples want to evoke.
The process of designing a wedding for Evelyn Clark Weddings couples is never quick as we take our time getting to understand what our brides and grooms truly want. This means deciphering whether their “rustic-romantic-chic” matches what we consider “rustic-romantic-chic”. This also means taking vague concepts and ideas and pulling out what our couples are trying to tell us (but in not many words!).
In this series, we show you how we create wedding inspiration boards for our clients and turn them into their Real Wedding.
Wedding Inspiration to Real Wedding
One of our challenges for design in 2013 was Jackie and Chris’ wedding. As we mentioned in their feature on Wedding Obsession, we had to blend “club and lounge + rustic + modern” while using a red, purple and pink wedding colour palette.
Here’s a look at their inspiration board:
And this is a look at how it all came together on their wedding day:
Stay tuned for more weddings to be featured in our Inspiration to Real Wedding series!
