Bouquet of the Week: peacock feathers

Does it surprise anyone that I picked this bouquet? It is purple, after all! With the garden-inspired flowers, greenery, and teeny pearls, this bouquet screams “English-garden-inspired” wedding to me. My favourite flower of the bunch has to be those perfect lavender-grey roses, but the icing on the cake is definitely the use of those peacock feathers.

Sweet Stylings Tip:
Adding feathers into a bouquet is a brilliant way to tie in a wedding motif or simply add a little bit of fun to the design. You wedding does not have to have a “peacock feather” theme to use peacock feathers in your bouquet (that might be too literal of a design); instead, look at the feathers as a way to relate your wedding colours or venue.

If one of your colours is blue, then the blues in peacock feathers would be an interesting way to bring that colour into your bouquet seeing how there are very few true blue flowers available. Or, if your wedding is taking place at a zoo, peacock feathers would be a nod to that idea. This specific bouquet does not have blue or green in it to tie in the feathers in that way, but the overall feeling of the bouquet evokes a more fanciful, garden-esque feeling and I think the feathers add a neat flair to the bouquet design.
