“Vintage” is a the hot trend of choice right now for many Calgary brides, and I think it is so interesting to see the variations on “vintage” that brides and designers are coming up with. Certainly lace and antique frames are de rigueur for a vintage feel, and so is loose floral arrangements in soft colours and garden-like greenery. This week’s bouquet has a vintage rustic feel to it, but it is so different from other designs you may have seen.

What strikes me about this particular bouquet is the unique choice of greenery and “flowers”: the green cabbage greenery is very different and lends a bold, strong structure to the bouquet; the dark purple leaves add a modern, clean touch; and to top it off, the soft ring of baby’s breath was added to keep it on pointe with its vintage theme. Bonus points for the pretty lace wrap around the stems!

Sweet Stylings Tip:
Again, do not be afraid to venture out of the typical bouquet comfort zone. This bouquet doesn’t encompass any big blooms as more typical bouquets do! Some brides are not “flower” people (I gasp!), and I think this is a perfect solution for those brides who want something simple and more authentic to their personalities.
