Life is good. But busy.
Since moving into our new home, things have been a non-stop, go-go-go, crazy ride — Sweet Stylings Event Design is a swingin’ with inquiries, weddings, Sugar Bars and assistant planner hiring; the house needs some (read: a lot) of furniture (not to mention decor) love and, oh yeah, things like getting groceries are important too…right? With that said, here are some photos of the ongoing projects Chez Clark:
We have been re-purposing furniture that we had in our condo for my new office using Kate at Centsational Girl’s painting laminate tutorial…easier said than done, unfortunately. Please excuse the blurriness of this photo and also how messy everything is!
No, it wasn’t too difficult, but it was very time consuming (um, we’re still working on other pieces…) and a little awkward when the paint glops on the edges and you try to wedge the shelves in and wind up ripping off parts of the paint and you yell and your husband ends up retouching up the paint for you. Not that that happened…ahem.
Nevertheless, it looks fantastic when everything works out! (This is 1 of the units so far) Again, the blurriness…
And doesn’t it look fab with my beautiful new crystal lamp? Purchased from Home Sense, thankyouverymuch!
All of this and I managed to squeeze in some baking time — don’t get me wrong, as much as I love baking, it has taken a serious turn on the back burner as everything else in my life has been more pressing. This, my friends, is a delectable chocolate pound cake with chocolate glaze. It’s sitting in my kitchen right now and I do think I will have a slice later!
So now that you are all caught up in the happenings on my life for the first part of 2011, I’m off to watch some tv on our new couches…I’m pooped!
