Happy Friday! How about a post with beautiful wedding gowns to get you ready for the weekend? Yep, that’s what I thought!
If you’re anything like me, you watch award shows mostly to check out all the fabulous dresses that celebrities are wearing on the red carpet. And if you know your designers and dresses, you must be familiar with Lebanese designer Elie Saab: fashion designer synonymous with glitz, glam and, in the most technical terms, va-va-voom! With sexy cuts and a decadent use of sparkle and shine, Elie Saab’s work is seen on many A-list celebrities at key award shows like the Oscars (Halle Berry wore Elie Saab when she accepted her award in 2002), Grammys and Golden Globes. Much to my delight, I recently discovered that Elie Saab also has a collection of wedding gowns, Elie by Elie Saab, available through the bridal house Pronovias. Naturally I had to pick some of my favourites from his Spring 2011 collection for you…enjoy!
Firstly, I love that there is a slit in this Grecian-esque gown — very sexy. Secondly, I love the peek of lace that you see in the slit!
This dress is also a little less traditional and feels more like a glamourous Grecian gown you would find on the red carpet; perfect for the glamourous bride that wants to stand out!
These next dresses all of capped sleeves or a ridiculously beautiful bolero/shawl. One of my brides was looking for a dress with capped sleeves, which I think is such a classic and elegant look…and a nice change from just strapless, non? The detail on the bodice of this dress is stunning.
The “Aglaya” is one of the more classic, princess-y dresses in this collection. The lace detailing, again, is exquisite.
The back of this dress is to-die-for! I love the lace sleeves and how beautifully the lace dips down in the back!
Love, love, love the sweep and layering of this gauzy fabric just below the shoulders with delicate flowers — definitely my favourite because it adds a little something more to a strapless gown!
