A chic urban affair with whimsical, pretty details and a relaxed vibe.  Cynthia and Warren wanted to celebrate their wedding with a close group of family and friends but focus on enjoying great food and a dinner-party style, non-traditional Reception.

 

The Ceremony

First, a beautiful Spring day and for a rooftop ceremony at one of Calgary’s most chic hotels: Hotel LeGermain.  Sweeping views of downtown Calgary was punctuated by stunning florals of pale pink peonies, ivory roses, white hydrangea and grey lamb’s ear atop modern, lucite pedestals surrounded by candles and rose petals.  The sounds of Classical guitar playing a variety of pop songs and Classic pieces filled the air for a simple, yet romantic atmosphere as Cynthia and Warren exchanged vows.

 

The Reception

The black and white Reception room with floor-to-ceiling windows was transformed into a stylish dinner space with pale pink, white and silver accents.  The centrepieces were composed of romantic, large blooms of pink peonies, ivory and white roses and hydrangea and soft lamb’s ear set in silver mercury glass.  Silver-taupe and blush pink linens combined with silver chiavari chairs added pretty elements to soften the modern room into something more elegant.  The transformation was complete with the combination of warm candlelight and special lighting for wow-factor glamour.

Whimsical touches were present throughout the wedding, with personalized cookie favours for guests in pink and white.  Continuing the cookie theme, upright cookie numbers held in cloche jars numbered the tables in a unique and fun way. Tying it all in was a delightful spread of beautiful mini desserts for guests to nibble on throughout the night.

Doing away with speeches from the bridal party or parents, Warren, brought guests to tears with his and Cynthia’s heartfelt love story and gratitude to guests.  And after a top-notch dinner from one of the best restaurants in Calgary, the new husband and wife took their First Dance.  As they let their guests mingle and chat to the sounds of a sultry, live band, Cynthia and Warren sneaked away for a rooftop photo session against the night sky…the perfect way to cap off their modern, intimate wedding day.
